HBE EDU FAQ

(All the things)

Part 1: The K-Tip Blueprint ($2,500): This is the foundation of the HBE Method. It focuses on a comprehensive approach to a proper keratin bond application, prioritizing the integrity and health of the hair with K-tips. It is the holistic combination of technique, with a business backbone. You learn consulting, proper color/texture matching, density matching, sectioning, scaling the business, troubleshooting, forms, waivers, and contracts needed to move from a volume-based business to a high-ticket specialist model.

Part 2: The Art of K-Tips ($2,500): This is advanced technical mastery. It moves beyond the standard install into Tonal Alchemy. Learn how to strategically invest in single donor hair, manipulate texture and color, create strips, deep diving into keratin, blending hair in a hackle and, as always, “using the entire animal” when it comes to the hair you’re working with when your client is not yet sitting in the chair for true bespoke transformations.

The HBE Method Bundle ($4,500) is the most strategic choice for stylists committed to full mastery. By bundling, you save $500 instantly and receive the complete A-to-Z curriculum.

This is a $1,000 value included with the Blueprint or the Bundle. It contains the exact professional infrastructure Ester uses: Pre-consultation forms, Liability Waivers, Aftercare guides, and Price Increase templates so you can transition your business to premium rates immediately.

Most certifications teach you how to put hair on. We teach you how to engineer a transformation, how to approach a K-tip transformation on any client sitting in the chair while maintaining the health of their hair. The HBE Method focuses on Ethical ROI and critical thinking. We don't just teach a bead or a bond; we teach you how to work strategically, and selfishly. Reducing the client volume, reducing the physical tax on your body, all the while, increasing your revenue.

You have lifetime access to all digital downloads and core course videos. You can pause, rewind, and re-watch the modules as often as you need to calibrate your technique.

You aren't left to learn in isolation. You have the option to join the @HairbyEsterEdu Subscription, our private Instagram community. This includes live Q&A sessions with Ester and access to our private WhatsApp global community where you can troubleshoot real time client challenges with other high level stylists.

The Art of K-Tips (July 26–27): This 2-day advanced mastery class is for those ready to dive into customizations when working with single donor hair. The advanced course focuses on understanding keratin, blending and manipulating bulk textures and colors, encapsulation by hand, and with a press.

Our 2026 in-person sessions take place in Midtown Manhattan. Exact location details are sent to students upon enrollment.

Unlike large scale seminars, you will be placed in intimate, mentorship focused cohorts designed to move you from awareness to technical refinement. You will work in small groups directly under the guidance of HBE dedicated Educators trained by Ester, while Ester herself rotates through every student and cohort frequently to physically correct your method, provide hands-on feedback, and answer your questions. This hands-on environment ensures you leave with your skills fully aligned to the HBE Standard and gives Ester the opportunity to truly get to know each of you and your specific career goals.

The virtual course teaches the HBE standards and decision-making framework. The in-person class is where we calibrate your technique in real time and layer in the business and marketing system for selling, positioning, and scaling high-ticket K-Tip work. Your in-person tuition includes 3 months of complimentary access to the virtual course ($2,500 value) so you can prepare before class and reinforce after.

Tuition for each 2-day in-person intensive course (The Blueprint April 26/27, and The Artistry July 26/27) is $5,000. Bring your phone, a charger, and storage space because you’re leaving with new skills and new content. Take advantage of filming and documenting your investment while you’re in the room. Everything else is handled. You’ll receive a curated class kit with the tools, supplies, and resources you need. A pen and notebook are optional if you like to jot things down. Your real “must bring” is energy: coachable, open to unlearning old habits, and ready to level up. Bonus points if you show up nail’d and outfit’d.

While not strictly required, we highly recommend completing The Blueprint first. They are designed as a pair, the Artistry follows the Blueprint and signing up to the second might not serve you as expected without the correct and proper foundation.

We provide high-quality fuel to keep you focused throughout the day. Your enrollment includes coffee, breakfast, lunch, and snacks during class hours (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM). All other travel-related expenses, including airfare, overnight accommodations, and dinner, are the responsibility of the student.

Due to the high level of demand for these classes, all deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

In Person EDU

Yes. Most of our ponytails are true single donor, meaning the entire ponytail comes from one individual and can never be duplicated once it’s sold.

We also offer custom blends to create intentional dimension and color variation. Those blends are made by combining 2–3 single donor ponytails, and even then, the exact mix, tone, texture, and natural variation cannot be replicated once it’s gone.

“Slavic hair” is a market term for hair sourced from Slavic regions of Eastern Europe, commonly associated with areas like Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, and neighboring Slavic countries.

This is hair that has never been chemically colored or processed. The cuticles are 100% intact and aligned, which preserves the natural shine, movement, and longevity.

At HBE, ethics are non-negotiable. This means working with willing sellers, providing fair compensation, maintaining a verifiable chain-of-custody, and labeling with transparency. We know exactly where our hair comes from and ensure sellers are compensated fairly.

Yes. Treat it like bio hair. The hair has never been colored, lightened, or processed in any way, however, the single donor ponytail may grab, deposit, lift, or lighten differently than your client’s natural hair because it has its own porosity and coarseness.

This refers to the diameter of the individual strand, not the density.

Fine: smaller strand diameter, softer feel, more shine, bends easily, but can get weighed down quickly and is more prone to breakage from tension or overprocessing.

Coarse: larger strand diameter, more structure, holds shape better, can tolerate heat and handling a bit better, and is often used for low-density clients to create a fuller silhouette with fewer grams.

We categorize hair by how it absorbs moisture. Low porosity hair repels water at first and reflects light like glass. High porosity hair soaks up water fast and provides more grip and visual space between strands. Matching porosity ensures the extensions behave exactly like your client’s natural hair when wet and dry.

This depends on your client’s goals.

20–40g: Added volume

40–80g: Standard lengthening

80–120g: Lengthening for very dense clients

A single ponytail often spans multiple installs, allowing you to earn back your investment after the first one.

Bulk: Choose this if you prefer in-house prep and want the freedom to mix custom textures and colors.

Hand-Bonded: Choose this if you want pro-prepped HBE K-Tip strips. These are saturated with keratin and designed to be custom-cut by the stylist to match the client’s specific density.

Because the hair is raw and unprocessed, it can last 2 to 3 years with proper care. You can remove, rebond, and re-encapsulate the hair as many times as you, as the stylist, would like.

Instead of ordering hair for a specific appointment, stylists purchase ponytails to build an in-house archive. Since one ponytail can serve multiple installs, having a range of textures on hand allows you to provide custom blends on the spot and move clients from consultation to install immediately.

We release limited collector capsules every Wednesday at 12 PM EST. We drop ten singular ponytails that are never restocked. These are first-come, first-served.

Absolutely. Treat it like bio hair — wave, curl, and straighten it as desired. Just like natural hair, excessive heat styling carries a risk of split ends, so always use professional-grade heat protection.

All sales are final. Due to the 1-of-1 nature of our inventory, we do not accept returns or exchanges.
